Why I created Okie Balance

Sometimes the hardest part is figuring out what you actually want.

I created Okie Balance because I believe many people become disconnected from themselves while trying to keep up with the expectations and responsibilities of everyday life.

We make decisions based on what we think we're supposed to do. We compare ourselves to other people. We take care of responsibilities, pursue careers, maintain relationships, and keep moving forward.

And sometimes, somewhere along the way, we stop asking ourselves:

"What do I actually want?"

I wanted to create a space where that question could be explored honestly—without judgment and without someone else telling you what your answer should be.

A little about me

The person behind Okie Balance.

I'm someone who has spent a lot of time thinking about what it means to build a life that feels meaningful and authentic.

My own experiences have shaped the way I think about purpose, expectations, relationships, work, and the choices we make throughout our lives.

I created Okie Balance to provide the kind of space I believe people sometimes need—a place where you can slow down, talk honestly about what's going on, and take a closer look at what you really want.

When I'm not working with clients, I'm simply enjoying life, continuing to learn, and finding balance in my own way.

Why men

Sometimes asking for help is the hardest part.

Men can face a lot of expectations around who they're supposed to be, what success should look like, and how much they should be able to handle on their own.

Those expectations won't look the same for everyone. But they can make it difficult to slow down, talk honestly about what's going on, or admit when you're not sure what comes next.

I want Okie Balance to be a place where men can have those conversations without feeling like they need to already have the answers.

What I believe

Balance isn't about creating a perfect life.

Life comes with responsibilities. Relationships matter. Work matters. Finances matter. And sometimes the things we want compete with the things we need to do.

I don't believe balance means escaping those responsibilities or simply doing whatever makes you happy.

To me, balance is about understanding what matters to you, recognizing the tradeoffs that come with your choices, and consciously deciding what you're willing to prioritize.

The goal isn't a perfect life. It's a life that feels like yours.
